WA: Goldfields Aborigines welcome native title decision

PERTH, Feb 28 AAP - A group of Goldfields Aborigines has welcomed the National Native Title
Tribunal's decision to recognise their right to pursue a claim over a big area of the
mineral-rich region in Western Australia.

National Native Title Tribunal Registrar Chris Doepel said on Friday the Wongatha
application had met all the stringent test criteria under new Federal native title laws.
