Qld: Man charged with assaulting police
BRISBANE, April 30 AAP - A man has been charged with striking a female police officer
in the mouth in Brisbane.
Police said the constable was questioning the 27-year-old man at a newsagency in northeast
Brisbane when he allegedly struck her in the face, splitting her lip.
The officer used capsicum spray to restrain the man.
Police said a male officer also received facial bruising during the encounter.
He has been charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer and one count each
of wilful exposure and obstructing police.
He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday.
