BRISBANE, Dec 24 AAP - A male driver has escaped injury after being thrown from his
vehicle after hitting a tree north of Brisbane this morning while two passengers had to
be transported to hospital.

Police said the car was travelling on Duffield Road, Kallangur, north of Brisbane this
morning at about 4am (AEST).

Initial investigations suggest the driver, 18, lost control of the vehicle on a bend
in the road, before hitting the tree.

A male passenger had to be cut from the vehicle and was transported to the Royal Brisbane
Hospital with head injuries.

A 17-year-old female passenger was taken to Redcliffe Hospital with suspected internal injuries.
